Things Needed:
Tiles
Tile scorer or Tile saw
Notched trowel
Sponge
Utility knife
Grout
Chalk line or pencil
Rubber float
Tile spacers
Backer boards
Tape measure
Steps to Install Porcelain Tiles in Bathrooms:
Measure the floor with the use of a tape measure to determine the number of tiles and backing boards are required for that particular space.
Purchase the right amount of the porcelain tiles along with the required colour at the beginning of the process. Because it reduces the risk of mismatching the colour and helps you to buy the right amount of tiles instead of wasting excess tiles or worrying about the shortage in the middle of the installation process.
Prepare the surface clean, by making it fully dry before you proceed with the installation.
Now, ensure that all the surface area is smooth, flat, and hard enough to hold up the weight of the porcelain tiles. If the space is uneven make sure to remove or trim the surface to be flat.
Once you have prepared the surface, measure the centre point of the bathroom and start spreading the adhesive evenly for one quadrant with a notched trowel.
Cut the tiles with the use of tile saw, to place them correctly on the surface.
Place the first tile from the edge of the surface, make sure not to twist the tile, just place the tile firmly and press it slowly after placing it on the surface.
Remember to set the tile spacers for each tile and continue the same process for the complete quadrant.
Check the surface level to make sure that the tiles are evenly placed, if in case they are slightly uneven, try to put some additional adhesive to the floor till the surface gets level.
After finishing a quadrant, remove the tile spacers before they get stuck to the adhesive.
Now, use the rubber float to fill the grouts in between the tiles, which are formed due to the tile spacers.
Clean the excess adhesive with the use of sponge without letting it get stuck permanently on the tiles.
Repeat the same process for complete surface area to get the proper installation done.
Wait a week to make sure the porcelain tiles are properly installed on the surface, before giving it a wet mop or walking on the Bathroom Tile Flooring.
