Natural marble look luxury vinyl flooring in a Tucson, AZ home
Stone flooring, whether natural stone or material that imitates stone, is durable and attractive. Entryways are a popular space for stone since it creates a smooth transition between outdoors and indoors. With so many material choices, you can have stone flooring anywhere in the home.

Express Flooring, opened in 2004, offers all stone flooring types, which you can browse by scheduling an appointment for our shop at home service. This service allows you to compare samples to your lighting, wall coverings, and home furnishings.

Natural stone flooring

Natural stone that is appropriate for flooring includes the following:
  • granite,
  • limestone
  • marble
  • sandstone
  • slate
  • travertine.
When shopping for new stone flooring, it is best to consider several general factors. The first is the absorption rate, which refers to the porousness of a stone. Granite is the most impervious to water absorption while sandstone is the most porous. The coefficient of friction number indicates how slippery the stone can get, especially in moist areas. Flooring should have a minimum of a 0.6 dryness coefficient. If the stone is graded, look for Grade 1, which indicates high quality, uniform materials.

Stone look flooring options

Tile flooring, made of three different materials, can have a stone look. Vinyl is a multi-ply synthetic product. Laminate has a wood chip base, and porcelain is made of clay. Porcelain is the most durable type of tile on the market, and it is inherently waterproof. Vinyl is also waterproof. While some brands of laminate are labeled 'waterproof,' typically, water must be cleaned up within a day to avoid damage. All three materials resist stains, scratches, and other types of damage. Vinyl and laminate tiles often fit together so the floor floats above the subfloor. These lightweight materials are a good choice for second-story spaces.

Express Flooring brings the flooring to you since it is made to look good in your home, not in our store. The shop at home service is convenient and hassle-free. Our mobile showroom travels to Scottsdale, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Marana, Glendale, Tucson, Peoria, Vail, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Tempe, and nearby Arizona communities.
